In this post I am going to be discussing some new things about the new Zune software that was released September 15th, 2009. First of all, the Zune firmware update that they did for the older generations the 3.20 update I think has NO good changes in my opinion because it all seems similar to me. The one thing that I do like about the new software is the Quick Play tab which is the first tab you see in the Zune software. In the Quick Play tab you can see new songs that you added or a history of songs.
I went to go turn on my zune earlier today or yesterday. when I turned it on I saw the loading screen but it was stuck around about 10% and it looked like this    Â
.
Then I put it face down on my desk and after I did that and flipped it back up I received this
. I’d say its like the blue screen on windows.
Now it was stuck like that for some time and as it was like that my Zune got more hot temperature wise. I tried to restart my Zune while it was like that BUT no luck it wouldn’t turn off or restart itself. So I tried to plug in the USB Sync cable and each time I did that I didn’t hear the connected sound but if I unplugged it I heard the disconnected sound. When it was plugged in, it would change my default speaker to this high definition audio which I have no clue why. So I unplugged it and the cable smelled of smoke or fire. I had no idea why it smelled like that so I kept experimenting with it. after about one hour or 20 minutes I cant remember the battery died and when I tried to power on the Zune again it would show the Low battery sign which looks something like this

Once I saw that I thought that my Zune was unfrozen and would charge properly. So there I go and plug in the sync cable into my USB slot and into the Zune bottom slot. It shows that the battery is charging and it shows the charging symbol but my screen doesn’t stay on. My screen turns off then on. and finally… what happens after that is FIRE! I see a bright orange/red color coming from my Zunes USB port on the bottom and I see smoke so I QUICKLY Unplugged the USB Connecter from the zune and the fire goes away leaving my sync cable having a burn mark on it which looks something like this
There was a burn mark on the bottom of my Zune’s USB port as well which I will try and get a picture of later. I was so freaked out about this and I think my Zune battery/Hard Drive got burned.
