I have seen many people use a Twitter client called HootSuite and I decided to go to their web site one day to see what it looks like. Chris Pirillo posted on his Twitter “Need a "professional Twitter client?" and this is how I got the idea to try it. You can use HootSuite at http://hootsuite.com but to use it on your desktop you need Mozilla Prism unless your on a Mac. Now, what I like about it is the fact that it has a nice sleek interface and is very clean.
If I were to let other people tweet from my Twitter account I could set that up in HootSuite so that if some one else has it they don’t need to have my Twitter password. I can manage multiple accounts on Twitter and send out tweets to each one if I wanted to. I have organized my client to my likings, I have three tabs set up in this order “RacoonTech, Mentions, Direct Messages”. The RacoonTech tab is my main feed with everybody’s tweets that I am following. The mentions tab is everybody who said my Twitter username and Direct Messages is of course my private messages.
Another thing that I like about it is how I can send a message later at a time of my choosing. So lets say I want to say a good morning tweet or a good night tweet I can make it say that at any time and day I want. It has a shrink button where you can shrink your links through ow.ly and you can attach pictures and documents which is pretty cool. Also if you have an RSS feed you can set that up as well. One thing I would change is the ability to customize the colors. That’s all for this post and I will see you next time!
