It appears that Google, the lead search engine has been keeping quiet about investing in Zynga according to TechCrunch. First of all, for those who don’t know what / who Zynga is, they are the creator of the very popular Facebook game FarmVille and many others. Around a month ago, Google invested about $100 Million Dollars to $200 Million dollars to the company. Google has made this investment themselves and not Google Ventures. Now this might not be true but for now it’s stated as a rumor

Zynga’s revenue for the the first part of 2010 would be about $350 Million Dollars. To me, this is a lot of money and most of it could have came from Google, that is if this is not just a rumor. Supposedly TechCrunch has tried to ask Google and Zynga about this however, not one of the companies has responded. Google may be  preparing to launch “Google Games” which is most likely going to be creating games on the social networking site Facebook if all turns out to be true. That’s all the information I know about this, what do you think about this? Do you think Google was smart to invest in Zynga? Do you think this is true? Comment if you know anything about this.

I am going to list and describe some ways that I have promoted my blog. I get around sixty page hits PER day which for me right now is a lot. When I first started blogging I had some doubts about if I really should do it and once I got a few posts out there it seemed great to me. Then I drifted off to not blogging for awhile because I thought it was pointless but in all honesty, it is NOT pointless because you eventually will gain something from it

  1. YouTube – Before I actually started blogging and using social networking sites like Twitter I promoted my videos on YouTube. Now that I go back to those videos I realize that they have roughly around 100+ hits even though I was around 12-13 and that is a lot. I would put in the description box my site link and say “check out my blog at…” and things like that. That did get me some hits but not a lot
  2. Twitter – I have been using Twitter now lately to tell my followers and other people around the globe about many things related to my blog. Yeah I also use it personally too. I use a service called Twitter Feed which allows you to put in your blog’s RSS feed and it will scan it for new posts and publish it to Twitter. I have been using this for a while too and I have around 60+ followers on Twitter and I think a good amount of those people check out my site’s posts. I also use it to announce when I am doing my live show. Twitter is not all that pointless and I recommend giving it a try if you haven’t already.
  3. Friends – I have met many great people online and without them my blog would probably still be really small and nobody taking a look at it. When I was in the process of getting my blog up and running I asked some of my friends like TBigMan from Tech In All Things and Radtaz if I should start blogging and what a good name for a blog is. Eventually I had asked them if they could put my site’s link on their site’s and they did and this also helped grow my blog so if you have friends outside of the internet world or in, tell them about your site and ask them for help.

These are just the three ways I promoted and still promote my blog and my blog is still growing, I now almost have 100 public videos on YouTube. So, keep trying and don’t give up.
