So, the iPad came out a few days ago and I went to my local apple store to see it in person today. When I first heard about it, I thought it was pretty bad but now that I actually got to handle one I changed my mind. I first thought it was pretty big because I saw a picture of it and the picture was enlarged but it’s actually quite small. Also, it runs applications pretty quick.
One thing I did notice though is when I was on Twitter I tried to zoom in using the pinch method but it wouldn’t zoom! Yet, when I was scrolling through the tweets it was fast. I wish you could run more then one application at a time on it though. I didn’t mess around with it that much but I have a 5 minute video of me messing with it. Sorry if it’s shaky I didn’t have a tripod with me. Below is an image of it’s actual size on a table. Overall, I suppose it can be pretty useful.
Today, Tuesday February 23, 2010 I got a new MP3 player. This MP3 player is of course.. the NEW iPod shuffle 3rd generation. The shuffle prices at $59.00 for the 2GB model and $79.00 for the 4GB model. It comes with the new ear buds that come with the iPod touch with the volume control.
I like the color of the MP3 player it’s green. I also like how it’s very small and light. Since it’s lightweight I can clip it onto my shirt or pants pocket when I skate and that way it will most likely not fall off. It’s great that Apple made it so you could hear what song your listening to as well with “VoiceOver”.
Lastly, what I like about it is how it connects via Jack to USB meaning the USB connector plugs in via the headphone jack to your PC or Macintosh USB port. Some things that I do not like about it are the fact that the ear buds don’t fit my ears so that’s probably my fault for my ears being so big or small. I also don’t like where the volume controls are on the shuffle because I may not remember what’s what and I have to look right at my shoulder to see it. Watch the video for more information.
So, people who follow technology news may know that the new iPad was mentioned a day ago or so. The iPad is a mobile tablet computer made by Apple Inc. The iPad is touch screen enabled and currently runs the iPhone 3 operating system. The screen on the iPad is 9.7 inches if you measure it diagonally not vertically.
According to Apple it weighs 1.5 pounds (lb) and it is 0.5 inches thin. The battery life on the iPad runs up to 10 hours. It has WiFi support and 3G WiFi available from AT&T and includes Bluetooth. Now on to performance, the iPad utilizes an A4 chip which allows the iPad to run at 1.0 GHz and the iPad is available in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, or flash.
The iPad does not have: A camera, microphone, Flash support so I think watching Hulu is out of the question. By using the iPhone operating system it has limited programs so iMovie is also out of the question for the iPad. The applications it does have are: Safari Internet Browser, A Mail Client, Photos which is probably iPhoto, Video, the famous App store. It also includes iBooks so it competes with the Amazon Kindle, GPS and maps, notes which is on the iPhone and iPod touch which is also the other applications mentioned.
It also has a calendar application and lastly contacts. So as you can see there is not a lot of functionality out of this but hey you never know, it can be improved but based on those specifications you decide: iPad OR iBAD?
